Yesterday, I had to work in Allentown, PA with a new customer. Being geographically challenged as well as unprepared, I decided to take the Amtrack Acela to Philly since it was only an hour ride. Unfortuantely, Allentown is about 58 miles from Philly, and the cab driver who I asked quoted me $130 dollars for the trip.
So, I rented a car from Avis, a nice Oldsmobile. My last ride was (ok, it was Sarah’s ride) was a 91 Celica, so this was definitely a step up in quality.
On the way home I got caught in a torrential downpour. At one point the visibility was about 20 feet, which is pretty scary on the highway. I stopped to go to the bathroom somewhere in NJ and was drenched as soon as I stepped out of the car.
I’m taking the bus next time.
